I’ve spent the majority of my life in the construction industry—framing, roofing, drywalling, painting, plumbing, irrigation, and landscaping. I’ve helped build homes from the ground up and solved problems in every corner of a property. However, when I purchased my first home, despite all the experience I had behind me, it was still one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever faced. That moment stuck with me.

It’s what inspired me to create Top Dog Certified Inspections—a company rooted in my construction background and driven by a deep commitment to helping others navigate the complexities of homeownership and property investment. I made a deliberate choice to take my hands-on knowledge and become an InterNACHI Certified Home Inspector. I didn’t just pass the exams—I immersed myself in the training, determined to uphold the highest standards. Because in construction, there’s a golden rule: “If you’re going to do it, do it right the first time.”

That same mindset led me to expand into Commercial Property Inspections, where I treat every investment with the same care and attention I would give to a family home. Whether residential or commercial, these spaces matter—they hold dreams, responsibilities, and futures.

During inspections, I began encountering mold-related damage. It was eye-opening. How could something so small have such a profound impact on both property and health? That question drove me to dig deeper. I pursued advanced education in IICRC S520 Mold and Mold Remediation, and today, I’m proud to be a Certified Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP). I work directly with EMLAP-accredited laboratories to ensure my clients receive accurate, science-backed assessments that protect their health, their families, and their investments.

Technology plays a vital role in doing this work well. Becoming a Certified Infrared Technician was a game-changer. Infrared imaging allows me to detect what the eye can’t see—moisture intrusion, insulation gaps, electrical hotspots—those subtle signs that, if missed, can become major issues. It’s just one more way I make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

But I didn’t stop there. When it came to roofing, I knew I couldn’t afford to leave any stone unturned. Roofs are often one of the most vulnerable—and overlooked—parts of a property. So I became a licensed FAA Part 107 sUAS pilot, allowing me to safely and legally operate drones for aerial inspections. This means your roof gets the attention it truly deserves, with high-resolution imagery and vantage points that traditional inspections simply can’t reach. Whether it’s spotting damaged shingles, drainage issues, or hidden structural concerns, I make sure your investment is protected from the top down.

I went through this strenuous process for one simple reason: This isn’t just a job to me. Top Dog Inspections is the result of years of hard work, long nights, and a whole lot of heart.
